FSK Insulation Tape

FSK insulation tape is a specialized tape designed for insulation purposes in HVAC systems. Its combination of aluminum foil, fiberglass scrim, and adhesive provides effective sealing and reinforcement, contributing to the overall efficiency and performance of insulation installations. FSK insulation tape is designed to seal foil scrim kraft facing fiberglass duct board and pipe insulation against moisture and vapor. FSK insulation jacketing tapes can also be used for patching rips and tears in foil-facing insulation ,used with fiberglass duct wrap for added strength.

FSK insulation tape has a combined backing of aluminum foil, kraft paper, and fiberglass scrim. Foil-scrim-kraft (FSK) is a flame retardant, vapor-barrier, and one of the most commonly used facings in the insulation industry. The combined backing properties result in a strong tape that provides a barrier against vapor. High-strength foil-scrim-kraft paper is all laminated together using a flame-retardant adhesive.

The primary function of FSK insulation tape is to create airtight seals and joints in HVAC systems, preventing air leakage and improving energy efficiency. It is commonly used to seal seams and edges of insulation panels, wrap insulation around pipes or ducts, and secure insulation blankets in place.
